Facsimiles

Back in eighth grade, while other kids were doodling sports icons and cars in their notebooks, I was busy trying to make a facsimile of the first page of the manuscript of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. My source was the small black-and-white image in E.V. Gordon and J.R.R. Tolkien's edition of the poem, which I'd found at the library at my middle school, Gilmour Academy; my medium was red ball-point pen and college-ruled notebook paper. Given these limitations, I think it compares reasonably well with the original.
